Claude Desktop Setup

Configure Claude Desktop to access Uru tools and integrations.
Important: Quit Claude Properly
You may need to quit Claude to refresh: Claude → Quit. Simply closing the window will NOT successfully load new tools.
Click "Claude Desktop"
Navigate to the Claude Desktop integration section.
Click "Show Configuration"
Click the button to reveal your Claude Desktop configuration.
Copy the Configuration
Copy the JSON configuration to your clipboard.

Open Claude Desktop on your computer.
Click "Claude"
Click the Claude menu in the top menu bar.
Click "Settings…"
Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
Click "Developer"
Navigate to the Developer tab in Settings.
Edit Config
Click the "Edit Config" button.
Double-click "text field" (highlighted when opened) - Claude Desktop Config
Select all the existing text in the configuration file.
Paste the Config copied from Uru.
Replace the existing configuration with the one you copied from Uru.
Mac: Close out PC: Click Save
On Mac, simply close the window. On Windows, click the Save button.
Create a new Claude Project
Now we will create a dedicated project for Uru in Claude.
Click here "New"
Click the New Project button.
Create project designated for Uru
Name your project "Uru" or something similar.
Let us add instructions
We will add custom instructions to help Claude work better with Uru.
Click here
Click on the Custom Instructions field.
Paste the Instructions provided to you.
Paste the custom instructions from the provided Google Doc link below.
Save
Save your project settings.
All set!
Your Claude Desktop is now configured to work with Uru!
Let us confirm that Uru tools are now available:
Open the tools panel in Claude to verify the integration.
You should see Uru!
You should now see Uru tools available in Claude tool list.
You are All Set!
Congratulations! You have successfully configured Claude Desktop. You can now start using Uru tools in Claude.
